Raspbmc Relax Boot Loop

I recently had an issue with a new install of Raspbmc. In the end it turned out to be an issue with the .xbmc folder and was resolved by renaming it (this means that a new will be created during start-up, and you old data will no longer be used).

There appears to be a lot of issues which can lead to the “Relax Boot Loop”, so to test if this is your issue as well stop the xbmc instance sudo initctl stop xbmc, then edit “/scripts/xbmc-watchdog.sh”. Look for the line which looks like this:

The start the xbmc instance sudo initctl start xbmc and check /tmp/log, if it contains something like “terminate called after throwing an instance of ‘dbiplus::DbErrors'” try renaming the .xbmc folder.
